It isn't uncommon for a lot of users to use weak passwords because they are less difficult to remember or to use scripts, templates and plug-ins which are not updated for a long period of time. In either of these cases, it will not be very difficult for a hacker to take over the site and immediately after that to take control of other sites that may be hosted in the same account. In order to avoid this scenario, we have added an excellent security option named JailHost. It restricts the access that a script has only to its own folder, so in case one of your Internet sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but will not be able to access any other content in your account, which means that the damage will be minimal. Needless to say, using JailHost can't substitute the safety measures you need to take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, still it will enable you to limit the damage to one site only.
JailHost in Shared Hosting
If you host your sites in a shared hosting account from our company, you will be able to protect them by using the JailHost option with just a few clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. This feature is accessible with all packages and can be enabled for each folder as the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have different folders, so files for different websites don't get mixed up like it quite often happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default as you may use scripts that need access to folders outside the primary website folder and this option could interfere with their proper functioning, but protecting all the other folders is very easy. In case any protected site gets hacked for whatever reason, we will be able to restore it easily because we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to browse the available backups from Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you have a semi-dedicated server account, you'll be able to activate JailHost with several clicks from your Hepsia Control Panel because we've included this option in all of our semi-dedicated packages. It is not active by default as you might use an app which requires access to other folders inside the account and JailHost might cause problems, yet you could protect all other sites by isolating them from one another. This will be really easy as in Hepsia all domains and subdomains have individual folders. In contrast, a number of other Control Panels save the content of multiple Internet sites in subfolders under a primary domain, so one single hacked site there will mean that all of them will be hacked. With Hepsia, only one website could get damaged and even in such a circumstance, we can quickly restore it via the multiple daily backups that we will keep, which means that you can go ahead and update it after that so as to protect it from future intrusions.
